In September 2010 we had an historic moment when we installed digital projectors in all three screens. No more film, although we have retained one 35mm set up in screen one for the odd time we might need it.

This makes The Picture House one of the most technically advanced independent cinemas in the country. All films are now presented in crystal clear high definition state of the art digital projection.
No scratches, no dust, perfect everytime, bright and pin sharp focus. Combined with our state of the art Dolby Digital sound systems there really is no better place to see a film.

We are very proud of our picture and sound and have spent lots of time and money getting it right.

Update Jan 2010: CP65 in screen one pronounced dead. CP650 installed as a replacement.

Update Aug 2008: JBL 3678 speakers moved from Screen One to Screen Two. (Where they sound better funnily enough). New JBL 3635 Sub added in Two. New JBL 3622N speakers installed in Screen One. Bigger speaker with wider range. Stupendous.

Update Dec 2006: New JBL Speakers installed in Screen One.

Update April 2005: Ageing Westars replaced with new Century MSC SA Projector heads in both screen one and two. Fantastic, steady and pin sharp picture. Pictures soon.

Update Aug 2004: Installed Kelmar film cleaners in all three boxes and invested in Film Guard. Wish we'd done it years ago! The picture is vastly improved and no more dusting from the curse of polyester prints. The result is fleck free pictures and cleaner projectors.
